Michael Jackson (full name Michael Joseph Jackson) was born on August 29, 1958, in Gary Indiana, to a family of 9 kids.

His music career begun at age 5 when Michael and his brothers formed a music band named "Jackson 5".

After achieving great success with "Jackson 5", Michael Jackson went on with his solo career and became known as the "King of Pop", the most successful pop singer of all time with estimated total record sales of over 300 million.

In 1982 Michael Jackson has recorded and CO-produced the best-selling album of all-time "Thriller" with seven hit singles and worldwide sales of 60 million.

Michael Jackson had thirteen Grammy awards, twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and received the World Music Award for "Biggest Selling Artist of The Millennium".

Michael Jackson was married two times. First time in 1994 to a daughter of rock legend Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie Presley. They divorced in 1996. His second wife was a nurse Deborah Rowe, with whom he has two children. The second marriage came to an end in 1999. In 2002 he had a third child who was born through surrogacy.

From 1988 Michael Jackson lives in a 2,600 acre (11 km²) property called "Neverland Ranch", which is located in Santa Ynez, California. Dreamlike "Neverland" is completed with amusement park and a private zoo where he frequently welcomed underprivileged children.

Michael Jackson's relationships with children, both his own and others, have been controversial. He was twice accused of child sexual abuse, stood through a few of worldwide publicized trials, and was eventually acquitted of all allegations in 2005.

Currently Michael Jackson plans to perform a series of concerts in London this summer, in what he called a “final curtain call”.
